Best in Show at the Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom Show May '03
Timber was just simply our 'once-in-a-lifetime' dog, and the dog that changed our lives.
From his arrival home with us at 7½ weeks to his passing age 12½ years, he lived every moment of his life to the full with an intelligence, vigour and humour that is hard to describe unless you met him.  He was an unforgettable dog.

As a puppy, 'naughty' does not even begin to describe the antics he got up to and he retained that puppy-like demeanour all his life.........there was never a dull moment with Timber around!  He had a cheeky sideways look & smile that he would give us when he was just about to do something naughty or, as was more often the case, when he had just been captured after doing something naughty.  He was very vocal and always had a comment to add about everything!
A big clown, he was always looking to be the centre of attention, which is probably why he loved the show ring so much.  He just adored showing off, getting everyone's attention and then being applauded.  Whenever he won a best of breed he just couldn't wait to get in the group ring and perform.........he knew there would be more applause.

During his whole show career spanning 12 years he was one of the most successful dogs of his time and remains the only UK Malamute to have won major awards under UK, USA & Canadian breed specialist judges.  A mulitple best of breed winner & working group placer, as well as 3 x BISS, 4 x BVISS he was always handled by me and we had an absolute ball together.  He won his first championship show Best of Breed age 3 years with a Group 3 placement and his last age 11 years.  He was a dog that just kept looking better with age.  At 11½ years of age he won the Dog World Veteran stakes and in March 2008 he won Best Veteran dog at Crufts championship show........he was an absolute star.

A light has gone out in our lives and he has taken a huge part of us with him that cannot be replaced.  Life will never be the same.
Sleep tight baby T, we just miss you so much.

We allowed Timber to be used only very selectively at stud and he consistently passed on his own qualities of exceptional type, construction & temperament to his kid's.  He was the breed's Top Stud dog in the UK from 2002 to 2005 & 2009, and the AMCUK Top Sire  2003/04/05/06/08.  We are very proud of all his offspring, who carry on his great legacy, and we are blessed to have his kid's and grand-kid's here at Snowolf.

5 months old

In harness he was focused and hard working; he always gave everything he had.  He helped train all of our younger dogs and his son Wookie, now a veteran himself, remains a great lead dog for me today.
